MISSION
The Women's Funding Alliance promotes justice, health and opportunity by investing in the future of women and girls.
VISION
Women's Funding Alliance envisions a world where all women and girls are thriving in a just and equitable society and have the resources and opportunities to reach their full potential.
What does this mean? It means that women are safe, economically secure, and free from discrimination of all forms. They have the means and opportunities to support themselves and their families. Violence and sexual assault are not a part of their experience. Women have equal opportunity in all aspects of society, and are key community leaders and decision-makers. It means that they have the freedom to make healthy choices for themselves and their children, and that both women and girls have the opportunities to learn, grow and be successful.
Fueled by our desire to increase equity and opportunity for women and girls, the Women's Funding Alliance will strive to fulfill its vision of being the leading funder and voice of positive change for women and girls in the Puget Sound region.
CORE VALUES & BELIEFS
Women's Funding Alliance is a progressive social change funder. It is important to us to measure our efforts not just by where the money is given, but also the process by which it is given. Toward that end, our guiding values and beliefs are:
- Worth of Women: Valuing women and girls is fundamental to creating a just and equitable society.
- Equity & Empowerment: All women and girls have a basic right to physical, mental and spiritual health and well-being. Our primary focus is empowering women and girls from marginalized and disenfranchised communities.
- Justice & Integrity: Change in the larger systems and institutions is necessary to improve the status and conditions of women's lives. We identify and learn about the root causes of issues facing our constituents and support organizations that address them.
- Respect & Inclusiveness: We strive to be inclusive, responsive, and accountable to all communities in our grantmaking process. Constituents are also involved in setting WFA's agenda and direction.
- Diversity: Each individual is inherently equal regardless of gender, race, culture, age, economic status, sexual orientation, ability, or spiritual belief. We are committed to evaluating our own assumptions that guide our perceptions of these issues, and strive to be a learning organization in order to increase our effectiveness as a progressive funder.
- Collaboration: Opportunities to collaborate, learn and give are essential to success.
