Women's Funding Alliance Board of Directors
- JoAnn M. Marshall joined the board in 2007 and currently serves as President of the WFA board of directors and is a member of the Executive Committee. She also assists with strategic planning and development. She has over thirty years experience consulting with individuals, for-profit and not-for-profit organizations. Her first career was as a psychotherapist in Seattle treating adults. JoAnn's second career as a fundraising professional began ten years ago with The Collins Group. She left her position as a principal with The Collins Group for the opportunity to be Campaign Project Director for the public phase of a $300 million campaign for Seattle Children's Hospital. Currently, JoAnn is the Senior Director of Development for Group Health Foundation. In addition to WFA, JoAnn is on the board of the Wing Luke Asian Museum. In her spare time she recently took up scuba diving and skiing.
- Linda Marzano, joined the WFA board of directors in early 2008 and currently serves as Vice President. She currently is Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for Pacific Medical Centers. Linda has been in healthcare for over 20 years in various roles and non-profit organizations. Linda moved to Seattle from Miami Florida 5 years ago when she joined Pacific Medical Centers. While in Miami, Linda belonged to various volunteer organizations that focused on children's healthcare initiatives and outreach programs for the elderly. Linda is a Leadership Tomorrow (LT) '06 alumni and also serves on the LT Curriculum Committee. She has a Bachelor of Science Degree in nursing from the University of Miami and a Master's Degree in Health Services Administration from Barry University. Linda also loves opera, reading and taking cooking classes.
- Jonathan Bowman is a graduate from the Gonzaga School of law, Class of 1993, and has been practicing law in Washington State for over 15 years. He is the managing attorney at Jonathan L. Bowman, Attorney at Law, P.S. in Seattle, WA. His law firm focuses upon estate planning, corporate and business law, real estate law, and domestic partnership matters. He has been volunteering and involved in the LGBT and Allied communities for just as long; starting with volunteering at Hands Off Washington, and now currently as a Greater Seattle Business Association and Women’s Funding Alliance board members. Jonathan believes that a balance of work, family, friends and giving back to one’s community is essential to his success and the success of others. Specifically, for the last 9 years, Jonathan has been active on the GSBA’s board of directors, co-chairing & chairing committees, and currently sits as an executive committee officer for GSBA as its past president. In 2009, Jonathan became a member of the Women’s Funding Alliance board of directors, and he is excited about contributing his talents to the growth and strength of WFA’s programs and grant making endeavors. Jonathan has also been a guest lecturer for Windermere Real Estate, Gay City, the EPA, Tacoma City Employees, Safeco Insurance and RBC Wealth Management.
- Ellen Cole joined the board in 2005 and currently serves on the Executive and Development committees. She previously worked with the Board nominating committee and has served on the Marketing and Art of Dining committees as well. Ellen is director of marketing and visibility at PATH, a nonprofit organization working to improve global health and well-being, where she directs the organization in the areas of visibility, marketing, and brand management across its 35 offices and 700 worldwide staff. Ellen is also actively involved in the Global Health Council, Seattle City Club, World Affairs Council, and Town Hall Seattle. She is married to Michael, husband of 30+ years, and they have two fabulous sons and two terrific daughters-in-law. Ellen loves opera, baseball, cooking, and her granddaughter Mia, who, by the way, is pretty much perfect.
- Amanda DuBois joined the board in 2010 and looks forward to helping with fundraising. She is a local Seattle domestic relations attorney and the owner of The DuBois Law Firm. The attorneys at DuBois Law pride themselves on providing compassionate representation to individuals making the transition from marriage or partnership to their new lives as single people. Amanda has recently embarked on a new adventure as the publisher of Civil Survival; a book and online educational series that teaches basic legal skills to ordinary people. Amanda has served on a number of boards and civic organizations including the Board of Governors of the Washington State Trial Lawyer’s Association (WSTLA) where she chaired the Women’s Section, the Medical Negligence Section, and the Family Law Section; Washington Women Lawyers; The Shoreline Public Schools Foundation; The Stevens Hospital Foundation; and The Center for Spiritual Living. On most of the boards for which she has served, she chaired either fundraising, special events, or development committees. Amanda is a long time Seattle resident and lives on Queen Anne with her husband, Philip and Labradoodle, Avi. When she isn’t at her office, Amanda can often be found cooking and entertaining at her cabin on Decatur Island in the San Juans.

- Mary Haggard joined the board in 2006 and has also served on the Marketing committee. Mary is the former director of corporate sustainability programs at Amazon.com, and she is currently auditioning for the part of entrepreneur. She and her husband Terry live in Seattle with their two sons. Mary is inspired by the work of WFA to support economic justice for women and girls and is proud to be a part of it.
- Tanya Kim joined the board in 2010 because she is inspired by WFA’s mission and its community impact. She is currently the Executive Director of Powerful Voices and has over fifteen years of youth development and community organizing experience. Tanya proudly serves on the Minority Executive Directors Coalition, Asian Pacific Directors Coalition, Seattle/King County Gang Prevention Work Group, Juvenile Detention Oversight Committee, Washington Women's Foundation Impact Assessment Committee and Prostituted Youth Advisory Committee. She was previously involved with the Minority Advisory Board to the President of Western Washington University, as well as the Korean Community Counseling Center Board of Directors. Tanya loves spending time with family and friends, especially her children and kitty.
- Jennie Mao joined the board in 2005 to help with the mission of WFA and improve the lives of women and girls. She currently serves as Secretary and has found her niche on the Granting and Executive committees. In her everyday life she strives to educate and care for women as a physician at Harborview Hospital. Jennie has been fortunate enough to be surrounded by strong, successful women and hopes that all young girls will have the same opportunities, if not more, in the near future.
- Carol Pencke joined the WFA board in the summer of 2008. She's been a long-time donor and advocate for WFA and most recently served on the Status Study Honorary Committee. Currently Carol works on Organization Solutions/ Consulting for the Nonprofit, Philanthropic and Educational Community and is also a Senior Development and Training Consultant for the Applied Research Center. She served as the Executive Director of A Territory Resource (now the Social Justice Fund of the Northwest) for seven years. Included in her client base are the Ms. Foundation for Women and NARAL ProChoice America. She has also chaired the NARAL ProChoice WA Board, the national NARAL ProChoice America Board and the national NARAL Foundation Board. When not working to change the world, Carol enjoys her partner and children, friends, riding, walking, travel, and reading.

- Kimber Woods began working with the Women's Funding Alliance in 2006 after a friend introduced her to the organization. She currently serves on the Executive and Finance Committees as Treasurer and on the Art of Dining Event Committee. Kimber is also active with Soroptimist International, a professional women's service organization and has served in both local and regional leadership positions. She is committed to improving the lives of women and girls in order to create positive social change and has been inspired by the individuals she's met during the course of her efforts. Kimber serves families and small business owners as a UBS Financial Advisor. She lives happily in North Seattle and loves to cycle, travel, and spend time with friends and family.
