The Women's Funding Alliance is a non-profit organization that
promotes justice, health and opportunities by funding agencies
serving women and girls in Puget Sound.
Our efforts are focused on three key areas:
- Strengthening
and supporting 33 diverse agencies
through strategic funding and capacity building.
- Educating
and engaging the community by articulating
the underlying issues affecting women and girls and giving voice
to our funded agencies.
- Advancing
philanthropy by providing
opportunities for individuals and organizations to create positive
social change for women and girls.
Much of the work of the Women's Funding Alliance is focused on
providing funding to agencies and individuals. The funds that
the Alliance provides are distributed in the following ways:
Federation Funding
As a federation of agencies serving women and girls, the Women's
Funding Alliance offers ongoing support to 21 affiliated agencies
through workplace giving campaigns. Many of these organizations
might not otherwise have access to such sustained funding. By
raising and distributing funds to these affiliated organizations,
the Alliance helps more than 10,000 women and children each year
through crisis lines, educational programs, support groups, advocacy
and training.
Grant Making Program
The Women's Funding Alliance granting program supports agencies
that promote positive social change for women and girls. Grants
are awarded once a year, in the fall, in the following areas:
general operating support, capacity building, project specific
and population specific.
Donor Designation Funding
WFA awards donor-designated gifts to agencies or causes specifically
identified by donors.
