Women's Funding Alliance

Justice, health and opportunity for women and girls.

Volunteer

Women's Funding Alliance (WFA) is truly a community effort and volunteers are crucial to helping us fulfill our mission of investing in the lives of women and girls.

Volunteer opportunities include long-term activities and one-time efforts that you could do today to make a difference. Any of these will make a tremendous impact on our work and your community.

  • Event Volunteers for Art of Dining & Amplify! Raise the Volume. Up the Impact.
  • Committee Volunteers
  • Office Support
  • Project-Based
  • Pro-Bono Professional Services

More information about each of these areas is below. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact us at 206-467-6733 or email wfa@wfalliance.org.

Committee Volunteers

These standing committees are always looking for fun people with sharp minds: Art of Dining Committees (see below), Finance Committee, Revenue Steering Committee, etc.

Pro-Bono Professional Services

If you would like to put your professional skills to use in the community, this is the job for you. We regularly need the assistance of skilled professionals. Specific areas include: writing, editing, graphic design, PR, legal, accounting, strategic planning, HR and event planning.

Art of Dining Volunteers

Looking for a fun, meaningful volunteer opportunity? Women's Funding Alliance is seeking volunteers for its 2012 Art of Dining Procurement and Audience Development Committees. This fabulous event features an elegant multi-course dinner prepared by Seattle's top women chefs and an auction that showcases unique items and experiences. In 2012, the Art of Dining raised $314,800 to improve the lives of women and girls.

We are looking for volunteers to serve on the Art of Dining Committee. Volunteer tasks include: securing auction items, corporate sponsors, table captains and guests; developing the theme and decor; and day of/night of assistance. The committees will begin meeting in late fall 2012 on a monthly basis until the event in Spring 2013.

Day-of-event Volunteers

We can always use the support of volunteers the day of our special events to help with registration, set-up, clean-up, and all the details that ensure a successful event. Please check out WFA's Event Calendar to see what's happening in the near future.

Office Support

If you would like to put down some roots and join our office, this is the job for you. On an on-going basis we need people who are interested in committing to being in our office for a minimum of two scheduled hours per week. The work could include answering the phone, helping with mailings, doing research, helping with data entry and helping with fundraising and marketing projects. Since this kind of volunteering will require some training, volunteers are asked to commit for at least 3 months.

Project-Based

If you have some time now but are not sure what your future looks like, this is probably the best place for you. Project based volunteering typically requires being involved with a staff member or committee in the development and implementation of a specific project. Past projects include working on events like the Art of Dining or in the production of a publication like our Resource Directory. Projects are usually of specific duration and involvement levels vary. Contact our office to find out what is happening now.
