Start a Donor Circle
Women's Funding Alliance's (WFA) donor circles are an engaging way to practice philanthropy. Following the age-old tradition of shared giving and women's giving circles; donors collectively pool their gifts and serve as grantmakers to fund specific projects and/or organizations.
Donor Circle Membership: Our current Donor Circle is fondly called The Ripple Fund. Members contribute a minimum of $5,000 and participate in meetings, site visits and grantmaking decisions.
WFA is committed to making this program a successful, educational experience for each donor circle member. Members learn first-hand about issues affecting women and girls in our community, participate in the grantmaking process, more effectively and strategically expand their personal philanthropy and extend WFA's grantmaking capacity to more women's and girls' organizations.
Each year members of the Ripple Fund collaborate with WFA staff to select a focus area for these grants. The grant application cycle usually begins in January and grants are awarded sometime in May or June. In past years, grants have addressed such issues as women's health, safety, literacy and education and issues facing refugee and immigrant women.
Given the amount of administrative resources necessary to create this special opportunity, a specific giving level is required for active participation.
